The Unholy City Podcast
Charleston's Absent Friends is thrilled to announce the launch of our newest adventure: a podcast!
Hosted by two of our board members, each episode takes you around what's happening in the Charleston area to explore local businesses, share spooky stories, and uncover the quirky corners of the Lowcountry. Just like our stage productions, it's all about connection, curiosity, and a little bit of fun - with a seat for everyone.
Listen on: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and more!

Co-Host:
Sadie Josephine
Sadie Josephine is a performer, marketing professional, and longtime radio personality with a passion for entertainment, theater, and the Charleston arts community.
With more than 13 years in radio broadcasting, Sadie has worked as an on-air personality, promotions director, and music director for stations throughout South Carolina and Georgia, including Charleston’s 98 Rock, Columbia’s Q93.5 and Fox 102.3, and Brunswick’s 104.1 The Wave and Magic 105.9. Her broadcasting career earned her multiple nominations for Best On-Air Personality.
Today, Sadie serves as the volunteer Marketing Director for Charleston’s Absent Friends (CAF), a local performance group known for its shadow cast productions of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, theatrical performances, and variety shows. In addition to promoting CAF’s productions, she regularly takes the stage herself, performing in theater, drag, burlesque, and Rocky Horror shadow cast roles.
Most recently, Sadie co-directed and starred as Ginny Cadbury in CAF’s sold-out production of 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche and performed in Twelfth Night for Shakespeare in the Park.
Whether she’s behind a microphone, onstage, or behind the scenes, Sadie is passionate about creating memorable experiences, supporting local artists, and helping Charleston’s creative community thrive.
Co-Host:
Jules Elizabeth
Jules is stoked to be back to co-creating with her dear friend and colleague, Sadie! Having co-directed 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche together earlier this year, Jules craved another slice of creative pie and another "co-" project. Thus, the birth of Unholy City Podcast! Getting to produce 5 Lesbians as part of Piccolo Spoleto Festival and Park Circle Pride in 2026 was a true joy, as was playing one of the "5 Lesbians," Dale Prist.
Jules has guested on podcasts since 2023 and has co-hosted podcasts since 2024. She was part of the team who won "Best Local Podcast" in Charleston City Paper's annual "Best of Charleston" competition in 2024. Jules enjoys podcasting behind a microphone at home, or in front of live audiences. Her favorite podcast interview thus far has been Grady Hendrix. Their final girl bracket war episode is one she'll never forget.
By day, she's a therapist whose passion revolves around helping the autistic community she holds dear, and by night, she's a performer, emcee, host, and entertainer extraordinaire. Making people laugh and creating safe spaces for all is the center of her heart and soul. Jules feels blessed every second she gets to serve these missions.
Her "free time" is spent pouring into Charleston's Absent Friends (CAF) as their president, producer of Rocky Horror, and whatever other hat is needed to be worn on her head any given day of the week as a small, minority-run nonprofit. We hope you'll give our new project a listen!
